Wayfinding Signage , The Garratt Collection

High specification materials

The Garratt Collection by Higgins Partnerships is a mixed-use development in Wandsworth, south London. The site was originally covered by the 1960s Brocklebank building, a car park and some shops.

Today it contains 193 homes, including one, two and three bedroom apartments, and a selection of three and four bedroom houses, located across two newly named streets.

4Site was commissioned to manufacture luxury door numbers for ground level properties and a selection of street signs, all to be produced using our in-house metal shop facilities, router and digital print machines.

What we did

  • 267 ground floor signs for houses and apartments
  • Associated street signs
  • Colour testing
  • In-house manufacturing and engraving of Corian material
  • Gold lettering

Attention to detail

We carried out a colour test prior to manufacture, using the specified materials, an RAL colour and a best match to a Dulux colour we were asked to work with.

We sprayed aluminium panels at varying sizes to assess the quality and colour match at different scales and applied gold lettering to the engraved Corian material – made from a combination of acrylic resin and natural minerals.

In total we produced 267 signs including door numbers with street names for homes at ground level. Studs were applied to the back of signs, so door numbers stood stylishly away from the wall.

4Site took the time to test the colours and materials we specified, ensuring the final look and feel of the wayfinding system was exactly as we imagined.
